The units of the Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping are:

Bookkeeping Transactions (BTRN)

This unit introduces you to double entry bookkeeping, the different types of accounts and records a business keeps and how to enter transactions into the accounts.

Bookkeeping Controls (BKCL)

This unit follows on nicely from Bookkeeping Transactions. You will learn how to identify errors in the accounts and make corrections. You will also learn about the banking system and how to create a full set of accounts up to trial balance.

You will receive individual workbooks each containing comprehensive and thorough lessons, examples and practical activities.

Prerequisites

A good understanding of the English language is essential.

Duration

Approximately 80 to 90 hours average study time with Enhanced Learning.

Enhanced Learning Resources

Our unique blend of Printed Materials, Practical Activities and Online Resources have proven to significantly reduce the amount of time taken to complete a course, which in turn has vastly increased our students course completion and pass rates. There is no reduction whatsoever in the Learning Content, Outcomes and Qualifications with our Bookkeeping and Accounts Courses. In fact we have higher completion rates with our Bookkeeping and Accounts courses than any home study or classroom based providers.

Support Resources

Waiting hours or days on end for assignments to be marked, and questions to be answered is a thing of the past with Training Link. Many of your assessments can be taken online with instant marking, and within the system you will have 24/7 access to e-books along with extra practice and self-tests that will allow you to continue your studies away from your books and your computer.

You get your own personal tutor to help, encourage and guide you through the entire process. Our Student Services Department is operational 7 days per week so you are able to progress smoothly and in your own time; no scheduled class times to work around or being held up waiting for answers, and our Student Street community is yours to engage and share with tutors and fellow students 24/7.

Assessment preparation

A series of online knowledge tests throughout the courses, end of course tests and online exam simulation tests (Mock Assessments) are the perfect way to ensure you have the best possible chance of success. Our specialist department will provide you with feedback, advice and support plus any additional lessons and tests you may need prior to taking an assessment.

Arranging an assessment:

A major advantage with our home study courses is the flexibility for taking assessments. There are over 200 external assessment venues available in the UK. To find your nearest venue go to https://www.aat.org.uk/assessment/assessment-venue/search

Just enter your postcode and the distance in miles you are willing to travel and hit Submit. You will see the venues in order starting with the nearest to you.

So when the time comes to take an assessment you can choose from the list and contact them to arrange a suitable time and date.
