Start Your Own Bookkeeping Business
This course is designed for people who are already qualified to Level 3 with the ICB (or equivalent) who wish to gain an understanding of principles and practice of starting their own Bookkeeping Business.
At the end of this ‘Start your own Bookkeeping Business’ course, successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement by Training Link, which certifies that you have completed the course to the required standard.
Study Method
This course is designed for study by distance learning at work or at home. Students will receive course materials, assignments plus tutor support by email and telephone. You can start at any time and plan your studies over a period of up to one year from the time of registration.
Course Duration
Students may register at any time and have a full year to complete their studies. The course will take around 120 hours of active study to complete.

- Fully understand all of the duties and responsibilities of a bookkeeper
- Understand how to carry out a risk assessment
- Compose a business plan and marketing plan
Prerequisites
In order to enrol on this course, you will need to be qualified to Level 3 with the ICB, AAT or equivalent.
Assessment
This course contains a number of exercises and self-tests, as well as four formal assignments which will need to be submitted and marked by your tutor. There is no external examination required.
